Dress in Bloom: Hydrangea Dress
The symbolic meanings of hydrangeas are “family togetherness”; blue and purple flowers symbolize “intellect and mystery,” while pink flowers represent “a vibrant woman.”
I designed a mini dress featuring hydrangeas bursting forth from a softly billowing skirt, as if the wearer were draped in the flowers themselves. Because hydrangeas bloom with small flowers clustered closely together, they symbolize family love and harmony, making them a flower that cherishes human connections. They are also recommended as gifts for family and close friends.
The fabric is a lustrous satin, and the handkerchief’s edge features a narrow, machine-sewn herringbone stitch.
