The design theme for the fifth CLASSICS the Small Luxury Design Award 2025 is "Harmony"”. One Grand Prix and two runner-up prizes have been selected from 1,445 entries from 43 countries.

[Judge's comments]

The shapes of various animals are painted white, and at first glance it seems unclear which animal is, but it has a familiar shape somewhere. It expresses the ideal balance of harmony that transcends the world and individual differences. Even if you try to draw the same theme, it's a piece with a strong sense of style that you can't easily find this expression.

The way the space is captured is also depicted diagonally, whether it is on the ground or the surface of the water, and the way the margins are left is also excellent. The fact that the entire piece was painted white was also very memorable, as there was only one animal with an adorable expression on it.

Cuteness and a huge theme. The balance between "completeness" and "abstract" that combines both is considered to be the best of this time, and was selected as the Grand Prix.

[Comment from the author]

In expressing "harmony" in the small space of a handkerchief, I wanted to convey not only visual beauty, but also the tranquil harmony that resonates with nature and life. So I tried to create a poetic screen with soft brushstrokes. Clouds floating in the sky hint at the animal's outline, while puppies running in the vicinity skillfully blur the boundaries between reality and imagination.

When the handkerchief gently spreads or sways in the wind, the changing clouds may remind you of a fleeting landscape of the real sky. The message is that harmony is not a stationary state, but a dynamic balance, and something that should be cherished and nurtured.

We hope that those who use this handkerchief will feel the quiet peace from it and rediscover the gentle and secret resonance that exists between nature and life in everyday life.

To express "harmony" within the compact dimensions of a handkerchief, I believe it should convey both visual comfort and my personal interpretation of harmony: a serene coexistence of nature and life. That, in my creation, I sensed to craft a poetic scene through soft brushstrokes—clouds in the sky subtly outline the silhouettes of animals, while a running puppy in the foreground blemishes the boundary between reality and imagination.  

When the handkerchief is gently unfolded or flutters in the breeze, the shifting clouds might evoke the fleting beauty of a real sky, remind us that harmony is not a static state but a dynamic balance that requires cherishing and nurturing.  

I hope those who wear or use this handkerchief will find a sense of tranquil solar in it and rediscover the tender, hidden connections between nature and life in their every day moments.
