At Classics the Small Luxury, we carry out various activities using handkerchiefs.
■Supporting artist activities
To date, we have released handkerchiefs in collaboration with many artists both domestically and internationally. By infusing the power of design, we seek to expand the new appeal and possibilities of handkerchiefs. In 2020, we established the ``CLASSICS the Small Luxury Design Award'' to support the activities of artists and hope that design becomes more intimate for people. Recruitment starts on Handkerchief Day, November 3rd every year, and has been held four times so far.

■Environmental initiatives
At Classics the Small Luxury, we are accelerating our efforts to reduce our environmental impact as much as possible.
・Selection of environmentally friendly materials
When we make handkerchiefs, we are particular about using natural fibers that can be returned to nature.
I once again wondered what I could do to reduce the global environmental impact, and turned my attention to the ancient Japanese material "hemp." Hemp requires little irrigation and uses little chemical fertilizer, so it is a plant with little risk of soil contamination and little impact on the environment.
The material is durable, absorbs water well, dries quickly, and is said to have natural antibacterial and antibacterial properties. We have been developing handkerchiefs made from hemp material since 2020, believing that hemp material, which has excellent environmentally friendly properties and functionality as a plant, has the potential to become the "standard material" for new handkerchiefs in the coming era.

・Recycling
Even a handkerchief can do something for the global environment. We have started collecting waste fibers generated during the process of manufacturing handkerchiefs and handkerchiefs that have finished their useful life in your home and using them as recycled paper.
Starting in the spring of 2023, we will be completely renewing our brand packaging, envelopes, and carrier bags using handkerchief recycled paper.
■Industry-academia collaboration
In order to make handkerchiefs known to as many people as possible, we are creating content from various perspectives through industry-academia collaboration. We are currently releasing special content centered around the "SIC Color" series handkerchiefs, which come in 108 color variations.We want to convey to as many people as possible the idea that handkerchiefs can serve as an infinite communication tool, so the manga design content focuses on non-verbal communication that does not use words.
