Basic ironing method

■For cotton, hemp, cotton linen, and hemp materials

・Temperature is high.
*Depending on the type of iron, non-cordless irons will become too hot if the temperature remains high for more than 5 minutes. It may cause the handkerchief to burn, so we recommend using a temperature between high and medium.
Spread the handkerchief on the ironing board and mist the wrinkles where they are bothering you.
This is because the heat of the iron alone will not clean out wrinkles.
Iron from the inside to the outside (edge) of the wrinkled area.
*If you press hard outward at this point, the handkerchief will be stretched. Press the handkerchief lightly.
When ironing the edge of the handkerchief, pull the edge slightly to get a clean finish.
*In the case of hand-rolled sewing,on the hand-rolled seam.Iron the hand-rolled seams.the hand roll will be fluffed up.

If the ironing board is dirty, the stain may appear on the handkerchief. Use a clean ironing board or iron with a white cloth underneath.
If the handkerchief is wet, pressing the iron at a high temperature may burn the handkerchief. It is recommended to iron the handkerchief with a cloth to cover it.

Apply an iron to the seam of the handkerchief so that the iron is attached to the seam.Press and the handkerchief will fluff back up.The edges will plump back up.


■For lace, hand-embroidered and tulle handkerchiefs

・Temperature is medium temperature.
*It depends on the type of iron, but a non-cordless iron will become too hot if it stays at medium temperature for more than 5 minutes. It may cause the handkerchief to burn, so it is recommended to keep the temperature between medium and low.
Spread the handkerchief on the ironing board and mist the wrinkles where they are bothering you.
This is because the heat of the iron alone cannot cleanly stretch out wrinkles.
Be sure to use a cloth.
Iron the area that has been sprayed with mist from the inside to the outside (edge side) over the cloth.
If you press hard outward at this point, the handkerchief will be stretched. Press the handkerchief lightly.
When ironing the edges and lace, pull the edges lightly to get a beautiful finish.
For hand embroidery, iron the handkerchief avoiding the unevenness of the embroidered area.
