Mick Itaya: Goddesses of Kagoshima
Designed by visual artist Mick Itaya.
Kagoshima. As the name suggests, there used to be many deer fawns around Sakurajima. Sakurajima and fawns, simple, cute and powerful. There are many Kagoshima specialties such as sweet potatoes, Sakurajima radish, and ponkan (ponkan citrus fruit). And the space center on Tanegashima is the gateway to space, a powerful image. The prefectural flower is the Miyama-kirishima and the bird is the Lidth's jay.
The design incorporates many things related to Kagoshima.
The handkerchief is made of American Sea Island cotton, which was bred in the U.S. and inherited 100% of the DNA of Sea Island cotton, and its fiber is thin, strong, and has excellent luster and suppleness.
