【CLASSICS the Small Luxury × Kurume Kasuri Handkerchief】
For this limited-edition item, we’ve taken a handkerchief made of hemp—a material gaining attention for its low environmental impact—and applied a circular cutout of precious Kurume Kasuri fabric, handwoven by the Ikeda Kasuri Workshop, as an appliqué.
Each handkerchief is a one-of-a-kind item, with a unique look created by the combination of the handkerchief’s design, the Kurume Kasuri pattern, and the embroidery.
We’ve crafted these into practical everyday items by making the most of traditional weaving techniques and embroidery that have been passed down through the generations.
Kurume Kasuri is a traditional textile in which patterns are created by dyeing the threads in different colors before weaving. The slight misalignment and blurring of the patterns—unique to Kasuri—are also key features that give each piece its distinctive character. These handkerchiefs, crafted using traditional weaving and embroidery techniques, are designed to be enjoyed in everyday life.
