First-time participation in "Who's Next 2026," one of Paris's largest fashion trade shows
Bringing Japan’s handkerchief culture to the world. Handkerchief specialty store “CLASSICS the Small Luxury” will make its debut at “Who’s Next 2026,” one of Paris’s largest fashion trade shows
The handkerchief specialty store CLASSICS the Small Luxury will be exhibiting for the first time at “Who’s Next 2026,” one of Europe’s leading international fashion trade shows, to be held in Paris, France, from Saturday, September 5, 2026, to Monday, September 7, 2026.
CLASSICS the Small Luxury is a specialty handkerchief store operated by Blooming Nakanishi Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Hajime Nakanishi), which was founded in 1879 (Meiji 12).
At this exhibition, guided by the vision of “Bringing the handkerchief culture nurtured in Japan back to the world,” we will showcase the appeal of handkerchiefs—rooted in Japan’s unique craftsmanship, aesthetic sensibilities, and culture of gift-giving—to buyers and designers from around the globe.
Bringing the Handkerchief Culture—Born in Europe and Nurtured in Japan—Back to the World
Handkerchiefs originated in Europe, where they were once cherished as accessories and status symbols. Today, however, the custom of carrying a handkerchief in everyday life in Europe is no longer as common as it once was.
In Japan, on the other hand, handkerchiefs have evolved beyond mere practical items for wiping hands to become unique gifts and fashion accessories. Through designs that evoke the four seasons, delicate embroidery, high-quality materials, and their connection to the culture of gift-giving, a handkerchief culture unique to Japan has flourished.
CLASSICS the Small Luxury views handkerchiefs not merely as “cloths for wiping hands,” but as items that enhance one’s appearance, convey feelings, and bring a touch of richness to everyday life. Under the concept of “quiet luxury,” we have been proposing this new value.
Through our debut exhibition at “WHO’S NEXT 2026,” we aim to share Japan’s uniquely developed handkerchief culture with the world, while creating opportunities to connect with new markets and business partners, and continuing to take on new challenges.
