Kanako Kajiwara Foggy

The calm of time.
A classic pattern of vague memories is expressed in yarn-dyed fabrics.
It is woven on a delicate gradation computerized Jacquard loom at a textile factory in Nishiwaki City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, with the skill of the masters of Naimoto. The edges of the handkerchief are hand-wound using only a needle and thread.

Kanako Kajihara
Born in Hokkaido. Graduated from Tama Art University, Faculty of Design, Department of Dyeing and Weaving. (After working for Issey Miyake Co., Ltd. she moved to the U.K., where she received an MA from the Royal College of Art. After returning to Japan in 2006, she established KAJIHARA DESIGN STUDIO based in Sapporo and Tokyo.
He won the Grand Prix at Premiere Vision Paris PV award in 2013, and has been an advisor for JETRO's export planning since 2015. Through material development, product planning, and branding that incorporate new sensibilities into traditional Japanese techniques, we propose the rich possibilities of textiles in daily life.
